A cosy home for small book clubs at bookbunch.app: a shared pace track, spoiler-safe margin notes, daily prompts and a live pick night, on Android, iOS and the web from one Expo codebase with an ASP.NET Core API.

Bookbunch is a cosy home for small book clubs. I designed and built it on my own, from the database to the design, and it runs at bookbunch.app and as Android and iOS apps.
Most book clubs live in a group chat, where spoilers slip out and nobody knows who's actually reading. Bookbunch gives each club, or bunch, a place of its own. Anyone can sign up, start a bunch or join one with an invite link, and inside they get:
Your personal reading shelf, yearly goal, reading streak and badges follow you across every bunch, and notifications let you know about new notes, the day's question and a streak about to run out.
I'm the sole developer and designer. I built the API, the data model and its scheduled jobs, the app across all three platforms, and the tooling around it: seed scripts for realistic demo clubs, characterisation tests that check the C# date and streak logic against the original TypeScript, and a Playwright-driven tool that photographs the running app to make its social posts. Accessibility was a launch requirement, so the app works with screen readers, keyboards and reduced motion.
Bookbunch shows the whole arc of a product: a single-club site that grew into a multi-club platform, moved from SvelteKit to one Expo codebase for web and mobile, and shipped with the polish of something people use every day. Try it at bookbunch.app.
Expo and Expo Router ship the Android app, the iOS app and the bookbunch.app website from a single React Native codebase, with TanStack Query for data.
.NET 9 API with Dapper and SQLite, hand-rolled session auth with Argon2, Open Library covers, scheduled jobs, and push through Expo and Web Push.
Shared pace track, chapter-gated margin notes, daily prompts, reading streaks, badges and a live presentation night with voting.
Let's work together to create something equally amazing for your next Unity project. Whether it's VR, EEG visualization, or game development, I'm here to help.
